Safety in maternity wards and labor and delivery rooms

Protection and safety for the infants

Media repeatedly report on kidnappings from hospitals. Confusion or exchange of newborns can also occur in maternity wards. For this reason, we have developed Care2Graph, an innovative solution to prevent such scenarios. Alarms are automatically triggered as soon as a newborn leaves the ward unaccompanied by a parent or caregiver.

More than just an alarm

Alerting is an essential part of security. However, in an emergency, it is also important to make it difficult to leave the facility. Care2Graph enables the following security measures:

 Programming of elevators

which remain open when a Baby Tag (unaccompanied) is in the cabin.

 Door locking

to prevent unauthorized removal.

 Camera systems

that are activated when there is movement or approach in the door area, in order to quickly detect potential threats.

Pairing and unpairing Parent and Baby Tags

The connection between baby and parents can be established even before the baby is born.

An authorized caregiver can link both tags securely and easily via the Care2Graph pairing overview.

Bei der Entlassung der Mutter und des Kindes aus dem Krankenhaus wird die Verknüpfung wieder gelöst, und der Baby-Tag kann einfach wieder aufgeladen werden.

An overview of Baby Tag and Parent Tag

Baby-Tag

Wearability

Immediately after birth, a Baby Tag made of biocompatible polymer is attached to the ankle of the newborn (using a soft silicone band).

Safety

Gold-plated sensors detect tampering attempts and trigger an alarm if the tag is removed without authorization

Usablity

Waterproof and suitable for disinfectant baths.

Rechargeable battery

The Baby Tag has a rechargeable battery that is charged in a special charging station.

Parent-Tag

Function

Enables parents to move around the hospital with their newborn without triggering the alarm.

 Nurse Call

The Parent Tag also has a call button that mothers can use to call nursing staff in an emergency.

Alerting and searching in the event of irregularities

The alarm overview enables nursing staff to respond quickly and effectively to potential threats or if a newborn baby leaves the ward without permission. If necessary, the alarm can also be forwarded to external security services.

The integration of cameras helps with the identification of persons and facilitates the investigation.
